To Professor Vladimir M. Lizinsky,
a researcher, an educator, a writer, a publisher
and a wonderful person
Dear Vladimir Mikhailovich,
I could hardly ever imagine that I would be once so lucky to send my greetings to two great men (without whom this journal would never exist) with the same jubilee in the same journal issue.
Since your birthday has already been celebrated and I’m sure many wonderful words have been pronounced and written to you, I feel really discouraged to say something new and original.
All I can seem to do is to extend my greetings two months late. But, as we all know, it is better late than…
I can recall my first meeting with you quite well. At that time, many years ago, you produced the impression of a modest and quiet person (“Oh! How much I was mistaken!”), smart and original (“With the passing years this impression has become even stronger”), and uniquely humorous (“I never met anyone with such a great sense of humor”.) I sincerely admire your creativity and your ability to produce new projects, your unbelievable energy and your ability to find ways out of the most complicated situations, your talent to find funny nuances in the daily routine and to present them to us, your genuine ability to work extremely hard and to be able to reach “unreachable heights.”
Every new meeting with you is a rare holiday that will forever stay with me.
I want to thank you heartily for the beauty of our conversations, for your “pessimistic optimism,” for your constant support and friendship and simply for your mere existence in this world.
May I say, “Please stay with us always.”
Yours,
Tatyana V. Tsyrlina-Spady
